Demeter Step set in a dramatic and fictional era on earth where oxygen on earth has been contaminated with dangerous and poisonous substances that get released from the permafrost that are melting due to global warming. This event pushed humans to live in a bunker with limited resources, but luckily some people manage to find ways to reuse oxygen and water that they store in bunkers for sustaining their lives; thanks to researchers who have predicted this event and created guidelines on how to live and survive in a bunker.

While humans’ population is almost wiped out from contaminated air, it doesn’t give the same impact to animals and plants. The contaminated air has helped the evolution of animals and plants faster and even more advanced than humans. Animals possess the same even higher cognitive skills as humans. They can use their brain to think, read, learn, remember, reason, and pay attention. One of their extra abilities is that they are able to communicate with humans in the same languages as humans.
